The Faculty of Psychology, Diponegoro University, organized the community service activities in Karimunjawa, Jepara Regency, Central Java. This activity is a series of events for the 27th anniversary of the Faculty of Psychology UNDIP. The movement took place on 2-3 July 2022 with the theme “Empowerment of Coastal Families in the Karimunjawa Islands.”

The activity involved participants from three different groups.

The first group was students of SMK Negeri 1 Karimunjawa, who were given two sessions. The first material from the Center for Experimental and Psychometric Studies (CEPS) was presented by Dr. Prasetyo Budi Widodo, S.Psi., M.Sc., with the title “Let’s Be Youth with Integrity.” In the second session, SMK students received material from the Center for Career and Capacity Development Studies (CAREERS), which Prof. Dian Ratna Sawitri S.Psi., M.Sc., Ph.D. and Dr. Unika Prihatsanti, S.Psi., M.A delivered. with the title “Reach Your Dreams.” Besides that, the Karimunjawa officials, Mr. Principal, and Mr. Teachers of SMK Negeri 1 Karimunjawa participated in the sessions.

The second group of participants, PKK women, received material from the Family Empowerment Center (PPK) delivered by Dr. Novi Qonitatin, S.Psi., M.A., with the title “Parenting.”

The third group, namely the elderly, received material from the Aging and Disabilities Research Center (ADRC), which Dr. Endah Kumala Dewi presented, M.Kes. with the title “Brain Gymnastics.”

This community service activity was closed with a friendly event between the management of the UNDIP Psychology Faculty and Mr. Arif Rahman, S.E, the authority from Karimunjawa. Hopefully, this activity will benefit the people of Karimunjawa and can be the beginning of a closer collaboration between the Faculty of Psychology UNDIP and the people of Karimunjawa.
