Psychology International Summer Community Engagement and Visit to Cultural Heritage (PSYCHE) is an annual summer course for International Undergraduate Students from all majors. The 5th PSYCHE this year will carry the theme “Empowering Community through Multicultural Friendships”. This year’s theme promotes community empowerment in building resilience in times of challenges. Through this Summer Course, participants will learn strategies to empower local communities facing different challenges and how to cultivate resilience while enhancing the well-being of its people.
At the end of the course, participants will have the opportunity to address specific issues in their local community and apply their creative ideas to implement practical solutions that will empower their community. Additionally, participants will be able to immerse themselves in the local culture through visits to cultural heritage sites, interactions with residents, and active involvement in artistic endeavours. This hands-on experience will provide a unique and enriching cultural exchange for all participants.
Main Activities:
- Local culture immersion in touristic village
- Community service
- Indonesian traditional arts and crafts workshop
- Lectures on cultural communication strategy, community development intervention, mental health, mind and body relaxation techniques, and expressive arts.
