The Faculty of Psychology at Universitas Diponegoro once again fostered an international academic atmosphere through the Undip Global Classroom (UGC) program in the Family Research Studies course. The program was conducted online via Zoom Meeting on Monday, April 27, 2026, and Thursday, May 4, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM (WIB), featuring an international guest lecturer, Dr. Darshika Thejani Bulathwatta, Ph.D., from the Department of Psychology and Counseling, Faculty of Health Sciences, The Open University of Sri Lanka. The program was attended by undergraduate psychology students of Universitas Diponegoro as part of strengthening globally oriented learning experiences.
Through this program, students gained international learning experiences from two main topics: “Cultural Influences on Family Interactions in Chronic Disease” and “How to Parenting Neurodivergent Children?”. The sessions explored the role of culture, family support, and strength-based supportive parenting strategies in promoting the psychological well-being of individuals with chronic illnesses and supporting the development of neurodivergent children.
The discussions were conducted interactively, with students showing great enthusiasm by actively engaging in conversations related to family dynamics, mental health, and cross-cultural approaches. The program not only broadened students’ academic perspectives but also enhanced their understanding of the importance of cultural sensitivity in family psychology practices.
Through the Undip Global Classroom program, the Faculty of Psychology at Universitas Diponegoro continues to support the internationalization of education, strengthen global academic networks, and foster students’ global perspectives on contemporary issues in family psychology.
